Allstate Can History
Prior to our purchase by The Ohio Art Company in late 2023, Allstate Can was owned and run by the Papera family for more than a century. The Papera’s started their business making olive oil cans for Italian importers. Their heritage as a domestic producer of decorative and industrial tins is indisputably linked to a long legacy as a U.S. manufacturer.
Ohio Art History
Ohio Art began its Ohio based manufacturing business producing metal picture frames in 1908. In response to consumer demand and entrepreneurial leadership, it soon became one of the largest metal toy manufacturers in the world including the iconic Etch A Sketch drawing toy. Today, Ohio Art is known for its expertise in precision metal printing and stamping and its outstanding quality and remains a family owned and operated business currently lead by the third generation of the Killgallon family.
